In the spring of 1953, Miles Davis entered the studio with John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. The result released on vinyl in August of that year was Kind of Blue, widely recognized as Davis' masterpiece and one of the greatest jazz records - if not records, period - of all time.
